Corvettes For A Cure
A Benefit For The Delaware Valley Chapter Of The Alzheimer's Association
2005 Event Summary
Thanks to the over 40 Vette owners that brought their Vettes out we raised $1200 to be donated to the charity (up from $900 last year)!
The weather had been forecast to be partly cloudy, hot and humid with a chance of late day showers high around 90. It did get to be around 90 and hot and humid, and we saw the sun most of the day with some enjoyable breaks of clouds. No rain!
Philadelphia area radio station B-101 came out around lunch time, played some music, handed out free Coca-Cola products and some chocolate candy and signed up some folks to win a car.
K-Mart donated 4 pizzas & 2-liter bottles of soda that were given away at Noon in a random drawing. K-Mart also donated 3 Huffy bikes that were given away as Door Prizes. Finally, they donated 4 cases of bottled water that were sold to help keep everyone hydrated and refreshed while helping raise even more money for the charity.
Bertolini's restaurant in King of Prussia donated a $50 gift certificate that was given away as a door prize. They also provided buy-one get-one coupons that were placed in all the goodie bags.
Other goodie bag and door prize items were provided by our friends at Bair's Corvettes, Eckler's, Corvette Central, Mid America Motorworks, and ProTeam.
It was a great show and we plan to continue to do this again every year. It will be the Sunday BEFORE Father's Day every year. Next show will be 6/11/2006. Check this page in Spring 2006 for full details!
